The Civil Rights Team has been very busy this year with efforts surrounding racial equity, gender equality, and so much more. You may have seen us in your email inboxes bringing attention to civil rights heroes such as Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Martin Luther King Jr., or at school assemblies taking time to recognize Native American History Month or the Holidays of Light. To follow our effort to bring attention to influential women throughout history and today, check out our instagram account @YHSCRT and our Facebook page, Women's History Month 2021.

Yarmouth High School’s Civil Rights Team is ready to have a productive year full of growth and action! We are hitting the ground running this year with a lot of great initiatives that will improve Yarmouth’s school culture. When it comes to inclusivity and empathy among students, we can always be improving - this is why the Civil Rights Team (CRT) is here! One of the first projects we will be initiating has to do with spreading awareness around biased-based language in our school. Too many times do we as students hear derogatory terms being thoughtlessly used, and the CRT wants to help teach others the effects that this can have on other students. We have countless more projects that are currently in the works that will help to keep our school inclusive to all walks of life. This being said, we want to be able to hear every student's opinion and we are always accepting of new members who would like to join our cause. Yarmouth is an incredibly open and caring school, however, there is always a way to improve!
